2010 Season!
Rookie of The Year
Coming off a great run this past weekend at South Boston Speedway the 32 Steele Products cars of Trevor Edwards clinched the 2010 Rolling Thunder Modifieds Rookie of the Year Honors. Winning at Newport Speedway and coming home with 7 top 5 finishes.
2011 Season Update
Just to bring everyone up to date, we are well into investigating the possibility of a second RTM division.
The divisions will be based on geographics of the race tracks and our Northern Divison will encompass all Virginia tracks (with the exception of maybe Motor Mile) and (with the addition of Orange County).
The Souther Division would encompass North Carolina tracks (with the addition of South Boston) and any tracks in South Carolina, Georgia or Florida.
The rules in the Northern Division will remain very much the same (still subject to our rules meeting). The rules in the Southern Division will be easily adaptable for Northern Division drivers wanting to race in Southern Division events.
This will give our base tour a smaller schedule and allow us to continue to tap the Charlotte and south markets.
We are listening to the drivers and distance to travel to races is the number 1 determination in car counts. So start planning to run for points in 2011.
ACE SPEEDWAY RAINOUT
This past weekends race at Ace Speedway was rained out. Due to the pending auction of the track and the uncertainty of a rescheduled race all fees have been returned from the track to RTM and will be given back to the induvidual teams. If you have not received your gate entry fees please contact Rich Peters.
Rolling Thunder Modifeds to run at North Wilkesboro Speedway
In the 50 years of North Wilkesboro Speedway only three times before have the modifieds ran there at the track. On Halloween the Rolling Thunder Modifieds will once again return to one of the most historic tracks in NASCAR history the North Wilkesboro Speedway for the first Short Track Shootout weekend with a 50 lap event. More info on the event will be released through RTM and NWS. .
